1. Start by gathering the necessary tools for measuring, including a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string and a ruler.
2. Begin by pulling your hair back and away from your face to expose your entire hairline.
3. Place the flexible measuring tape or string around the circumference of your head, following along your natural hairline. It should sit just above your ears and eyebrows and be parallel to the ground.
4. Hold the measuring tape or string firmly but not too tight. Make sure it is snug against your head, but not squeezing.
5. If you are using a string, make a mark where the two ends meet, and then lay the string flat and measure the length with a ruler.
6. Take note of the measurement in inches or centimeters.
7. Repeat the measurement at least two more times to ensure accuracy. Take the average of the measurements for the most precise result.
